Come along to our usual casting practice area with Ian, as he leads the session on saltwater casting techniques.

The ACT Fly Fishers are running this event. Participants and volunteers have been advised the weekend details via separate correspondence.

ACT Fly Fishers- What's on at the Club This week 20th August 2026 Hi Peter  Water Quality in the Upper Murrumbidgee River Speaker:  Guy Verney This week’s talk will be about the recent intergovernmental review of the Snowy Water Inquiry Outcomes Implementation Deed (SWIOID or the Deed).  This Deed, established in 2002 reflects the understanding of environmental water management at that time, but now has been recognized as inadequate for the management of montane rivers for which it was meant.  The review of the Deed has shown that the poor state of the Upper Murrumbidgee River requires urgent attention at a management level to prevent further environmental losses and risks to human health.  Guy will provide an overview of outcomes from the recent Independent Review of the Deed and the recommendations which will guide the future management of river flows. Venue: Canberra Deakin Soccer Club When: Thursday, 18th June  2026 Feel free to join us for dinner downstairs in the bistro from 6pm.
