DESCRIPTION:ACT Fly Fishers- What's on at the Club This week 20th August 20
26\n\n\n\nHi Peter \n\nWater Quality in the Upper Murrumbidgee River\n\nS
peaker:  Guy Verney\n\nThis week’s talk will be about the recent interg
overnmental review of the Snowy Water Inquiry Outcomes Implementation Deed
(SWIOID or the Deed).  This Deed\, established in 2002 reflects the unde
rstanding of environmental water management at that time\, but now has bee
n recognized as inadequate for the management of montane rivers for which
it was meant.  The review of the Deed has shown that the poor state of th
e Upper Murrumbidgee River requires urgent attention at a management level
to prevent further environmental losses and risks to human health.  Guy
will provide an overview of outcomes from the recent Independent Review of
the Deed and the recommendations which will guide the future management o
 f river flows.\n\nVenue: Canberra Deakin Soccer Club\nWhen: Thursday\, 18t
h June  2026\nFeel free to join us for dinner downstairs in the bistro fr
 om 6pm.\n\n\nStuart Graham\,\nPresident.\n\npresident@actff.tidumail.co\n\
