ACT Fly Fishers is a Canberra based fly fishing club catering for the needs of freshwater and saltwater flyfishers.
Meetings are held at the Canberra Deakin Football Club, Grose Street, Deakin, commencing at 7:30 PM on the first and third Thursday of each month. Fly tying nights are held on the fourth Thursday of each month.
Visitors are most welcome and you can find out about membership here.
The ACT Fly Fishers objectives are to:

Encourage the art of angling with an artificial fly

Protect trout and other waters

Maintain an interest in the stocking and care of trout waters

Foster and encourage the spirit of sportsmanship in fly fishing

Skills Programme
If you are new to fly fishing or eager to enhance your fly fishing skills then the third Thursday skills programme is a must!
The focus of the third Thursday skills programme is to:
- share the skills of the more experienced fly fishers in the club with those who are less experienced
- to promote social interaction.

Fly Tying
Want to hone your fly tying skills?
Never tied a fly before but would like to have a go?
New to fly tying and want some asistance?
Then come along to our monthly fly tying night at 7:30 PM on the fourth Thurday of the month. Check out the calendar to see what's coming up.
Trip Programme
Fishing trips are arranged regularly and cover fresh and salt water, stream and lake. They are aimed at getting members and their families together for a social weekends fishing. Many trips are geared towards assisting new fly fishers and include instruction on streamcraft. Check out the calendar to see what's coming up.
Library
The library is open at most club meetings and fly tying nights. The library has a stock of around 260 books and 90 DVD titles. The library is full of information for beginners and experienced fly fishers.
We have many topics covered such as:
- casting skills
- streamcraft
- fly tying
- rod building
- documentaries
- local and overseas interests
- saltwater fly fishing
- etc... etc... it's a huge resource for members.
Flylines
Flylines is the monthly journal of the ACT Fly Fishers. It's only available to members but you can get a sample copy here.
