Welcome to the ACT Fly Fishers

The ACT Fly Fishers was founded in 1978 by a group of enthusiasts to cater for the specific needs and interests of fly fishers in the ACT and surrounding region. By increasing knowledge of the many and diverse aspects of fly-fishing, the club aims to enhance its members' enjoyment of their sport.

The level of skills possessed by club members, range from absolute beginners to national champions. We are members of the NSW Council of Freshwater Anglers, the Capital Region Fishing Alliance and have wide ranging affiliations with retail outlets, accommodation providers, and other sporting groups.

The types of activities and benefits offered by the club include:

  • Meetings twice a month, with speakers or tuition
  • Monthly newsletter (Flylines)
  • Freshwater and saltwater fly fishing information
  • Regular organized fishing outings
  • Fly casting clinics
  • Tuition on fishing techniques and streamcraft
  • Fly tying instruction
  • Forum for discussing all aspects of fly fishing
  • Video and book library
